Introduction to SEED

SEED is Pakistan Specific Green Building Guideline.

The first version of SEED-Sustainability in Energy and Environmental Development is published in Oct 2016 by Pakistan Green Building Council. SEED is actually a sustainable and socially responsible thinking about how buildings and communities are planned, constructed, maintained and operated.

Industry leaders, researchers and professionals around the country are working together to develop these guidelines.

SEED will work for all buildings—from homes to corporate headquarters—at all phases of development. Projects pursuing SEED certification will earn points across several areas that address sustainability issues.

Based on the number of points achieved, a project then will receive one of four SEED rating levels: Silver, Gold and Platinum and Titanium. SEED -certified buildings will be resource efficient as they will use less water and energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As an added bonus, they save money.
